About Jon

I have lived in Battersea, Clapham and Brixton for 25 years. Including the last 10 years in the Clapham and Brixton Hill constituency, where I now live with my wife Ali and 4 children (and dog Coco).

I am passionate about this part of London that has become home. I am involved with the local community, including the local running club. I have raised £40k for local, national and international charities.

I was the first person from my family to go to university. I was born in Cambridge and attended a state comprehensive school. My mother was a learning support assistant in a comprehensive school. My father left school at 16 and became an engineer, via an apprenticeship. I have travelled widely, and spent 25 years in business, working with hundreds of companies. I now run my own business.

I am not allied to a particular political party. I am open-minded and have voted for established national political parties across the political spectrum in previous elections, as well as independent candidates. As a student I campaigned for tackling safety and crime on the streets of Cambridge.

I have decided to stand for election having spoken to many people who are disillusioned with the political system and the choice they are being offered by the mainstream political parties.

I am a pragmatic, centrist politician, taking policies from the left and the right of politics.
